For the past 25 years, corporate philanthropy from The Boeing Company has benefitted UW-Madison. This generous history continued in 2011, with a grant for $5,000 for undergraduate Boeing Scholarships in the College of Engineering and $5,000 to support the National Science Olympiad hosted by the University in 2011. Boeing also assisted a number of the student chapters of national professional organizations in the College of Engineering: the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Wisconsin Black Engineering Society, American Indian Science and Engineering Society, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Boeing’s charitable funding reflects its interest in supporting diversified student applicants to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders in the world to improve the quality of life for the recipients and the community.
